Model (Perfect) Lab

With every computer lab we've built we've always tried to learn lessons on what would make the next lab better. Better for the teacher, the students, for sustainability and reliability. Creating the perfect computer lab is interwoven within the '10 critical success factors' (see below) we've identified.

We've developed detailed drawings and plans for the classroom which are included in the MOU we sign with our Support Partner and the School.

Akash, our Western Regional Director has many talents including being an artist. His artwork explains what's required to prepare the classroom to be ready for the computer lab.

Demo and R & D Lab

Our Kathmandu office houses a complete 'demonstration lab' which we also use for research and development for new hardware, software, and teaching content.

As part of the process for a computer lab application, representatives from the school (computer teacher, headmaster, school committee chairperson) must come to our office to learn all the details about the computer lab construction and classroom preparation.

After going through the presentations, we then sign a MOU with the school and our Support Partner.

Recent Lab installations

Shree Bijayaswori Basic School, located in West Rukum received their computer lab in March 2023. Previously the school computer lab consisted of only two desktop computers and one laptop computer and so this lab will make a significant impact on the over two hundred students at this school. Our Support Partner for this lab is KISC EQUIP

Shree Basic Schol Lahareshimal, located in West Rukum also received their computer lab in March 2023. Previously the school computer lab consisted of one broken computer. The pic of students in their new computer lab inspires all of us involved in getting this computer lab created. Thanks to our awesome Support Partner KISC EQUIP - we couldn't do this work without you.

Somang Academy is in Lalitpur, Kathmandu. The school previously had eleven computers but only seven worked. It's not possible to teach ICT or to learn other subjects with only seven non-networked computers. The room selected for our computer lab is significantly bigger than our minimum requirements and so there is an opportunity to easily add to the twenty computers in the future. With 400 students at the school the lab should be used every hour of every day. Thanks again to our awesome Support Partner KISC EQUIP
