FAQ's

Does the school need to contribute to any costs?

The school needs to source the funds to 'prepare the classroom' which includes the furniture as specifies by EduTech Nepal. We sign an MOU with the school and our local Support Partner which specifies the requirements and includes setting aside a minimum of 40,000 rupees annually in an ICT maintenance and support fund. The purpose is to have the school 'owning the computer lab and caring about its success and effectiveness' as much as EduTech and the Support Partner does.

How is software and educational content updated without the internet?

Our MOU with the local Support Partner requires the Support Partner to hire a dedicated person to visit the schools and computer labs a minimum of three times a year. This visit includes a health check and update of software and content to the computer lab. EduTech Nepal staff will also visit schools.

We also expect to be able to use the Internet more for remote support as the government makes this available to schools.

How is the hardware of the computer lab supported?

A helpdesk is provided by EduTech Nepal. With the increased availability of Internet, we expect to be able to offer an increasing amount of remote support.

How does a school qualify for a computer lab?

We are required by SWC (Social Welfare Council) to plan the year ahead for selecting and installing new computer labs. We do require all schools to be able to work with one of our current Support Partners or a new Support Partner. Download the application form and School Selection Guideline and contact our office to discuss the application and approval process.
